Possession of Marijuana, Unsafe Lane Change: June 19, 2012 @ 22:35 Hrs
Ptl. Jack Lyon was monitoring traffic on Route 23 North when he observed a 1999 Volkswagen Beetle pass his location and make a sudden lane change to the right cutting in front of another vehicle. The officer caught up the vehicle which exited onto the Jackson Ave Ramp. The vehicle then turned left onto Jackson Ave, and entered the exit of the 7-11 parking lot. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer observed a plastic bag on the passenger floor containing what appeared to be marijuana. The officer had the driver open the passenger door which allowed the officer to observe a strong odor of marijuana, as well as, allowing him to secure the CDS from the vehicle’s floor. The driver, identified as: Daniel S. Walder, 24 years of age from Wayne, NJ was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with Possession of CDS (Marijuana), Unsafe Lane Change, Possession of CDS in a Vehicle. He was released pending his appearance in Municipal Court.
