DWI Arrest: On February 13, 2019 at 12:16 a.m., Ptl. Kevin Boone was on patrol of Route 23 North and observed a 2016 white Audi commit several motor vehicle violations. Ptl. Boone attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on the suspect vehicle but it continued north for approximately one mile after he activated his emergency lights and sirens. Once the vehicle came to a stop, Ptl. Boone made contact with the driver, later identified as John Bucci, 37 years old of Kinnelon, N.J. Ptl. Boone observed that Mr. Bucci displayed multiple signs of alcohol consumption and removed him from his car. Mr. Bucci was asked to perform field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested upon the conclusion of the tests. He was transported to Pequannock Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test, failure to maintain a lane, failure to keep right, failure to exhibit a registration card, failure to exhibit an insurance card, and reckless driving. He was released to a third party and has a scheduled court date at the Pequannock Municipal Court.
