Richard Phelan is a graduate of Kean University, Union, N.J., with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Summa Cum Laude. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, National Honor Society; Lambda Alpha Sigma, National Liberal Arts Honor Society; and Phi Theta Kappa, International Honor Society. His graduate studies were completed at the NJIT School of Management, Newark, N.J., with a Master of Science in Management, with a concentration in Finance. He is honored to be a member of Alpha Epsilon Lambda, Honor Society of Graduate Students.
Rich has lived in Pequannock since 2007. He is presently an employee of the Wayne-based Haydon Corporation working as part of that company’s upper management team. Locally, he is a member of the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains, and a member of the Pequannock Republican Club. He was originally from Franklin Township, N.J. and served as a past member of that town’s Volunteer Fire Company & First Aid Squad.
Rich was first elected to the Township Council in 2010 and is in his second term. Rich served as Township Mayor from 2011 to 2013 and currently serves on the Planning Board, the Two Bridges Sewer Authority, and is the Council Liaison to the First Aid Squad.
