As a result of the wet summer season and recent flooding, the mosquito population has exploded. The Morris County Mosquito Commission works with the Township to Address these issues.
Staff members from the Township of Pequannock have been in contact with the Morris County Mosquito Commission regarding the recent issues created by mosquitos in the area. The Commission utilizes spraying and the application of larvicide to address the mosquito population and reduce breeding moving forward. The Commission has several crews, which are all actively working to address the challenges County wide and in the Township of Pequannock, schedules permitting.

In addition to general information about the Mosquito Commission, the site also include guidance regarding what you can do to help address the problem, e.g. dumping any/all standing water, cleaning outdoor areas, etc., it is entitled "How Can I Protect Myself". A collaborative effort including spraying, the application of larvicide and reducing the area for mosquito breeding will help yield the fastest results.
