Nationally, the number of new infections is increasing. In New Jersey, the numbers of new COVID-19 infections, hospitalizations and deaths remains low but are now steadily increasing.

The Township of Pequannock and surrounding area experienced a major flood event over the past twenty-four hours due to the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

SPECIAL WEATHER ADVISORY: As of September 1, 2021 - 4:30 pm

We are anticipating a significant flood event in the Twsp due to the remnants of Hurricane Ida moving through our area. Forecasting indicates the Pompton River will crest Thurs, 9/2/21 in the evening; this is the time of greatest impact on our community.

Flood Causes:

  • Rainfall -   5”- 6” most of it on Wednesday night, ending Thursday morning
  • Saturated ground, based upon the recent impact of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Henri

We are anticipating a minor flood event in the Township of Pequannock with significant rains beginning Wednesday, September 1, 2021 into Thursday, September 2, 2021.
