Chief Daniel Comune

Chief Comune was born and raised in Pompton Plains and attended Hillview Elementary, Pequannock Valley Middle School and the Pequannock Township High School graduating in 1993. He then attended William Paterson University, graduating in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice. He attended the Morris County Police Academy in 1998 and was hired by the Pequannock Township Police Department in January of 1999. Chief Comune has served the department as a Patrolman, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Traffic Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, and Police Captain before being promoted to Chief of Police in December of 2020.

Captain Robert Brown

Captain Robert Brown grew up in Butler Boro and currently resides in Pequannock Township.  He graduated from Butler High School in 1995.  He then attended Montclair State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree.  He was hired as a Patrolman with the Pequannock Township Police Department in 2003 after attending the Morris County Police Academy through the Alternate Route program.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 2015.  He was next promoted to Lieutenant in 2017 where he was assigned to the Detective Bureau and Internal Affairs unit.  

Detective Lieutenant Kevin Ricciardi

Lieutenant Kevin Ricciardi grew up in Pompton Lakes and graduated from Pompton Lakes High School in 2001. He attended York College of Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2005. He was hired as a Patrolman with the Pequannock Township Police Department in 2006 after attending the Morris County Police Academy through the alternate route program. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2018 and has previously been assigned to the patrol division and the detective bureau, as well as served as the K-9 Handler for the department.

Lieutenant Jeffrey  Jones

Lieutenant Jeffrey Jones was born and raised in Pequannock Township and is probably known to most as Robbie Jones’ son at the hardware store.  Lt. Jones attended the Pequannock schools and graduated in 2001.  After attending and graduating Rowan University with a degree in Law and Justice studies, he attended the Morris County Police Academy as an Alternate Route candidate.  In 2006 he was hired by the Pequannock Police Department and started his career in the Patrol Division.  In 2018 Lt. Jones was transferred to the Detective Bureau where he served as a detective and School Resource Officer/Juvenile Detective.  Lt. Jones advanced quickly from there and was promoted to Det. Sergeant in January of 2021.  In July of 2021 he was named as the acting Det. Lieutenant.  During that time Lt. Jones continued to prove himself as an invaluable asset to the police department and earned himself another promotion to Lieutenant.  Going forward, Lt. Jones will be named as the Patrol Division Commander and will oversee patrol and the Traffic/Community Services Bureau.
